The Friendliest Venue in Edinburgh

Venue 40 Quaker Meeting House

Venue 40 - What’s On

Venue 40, the Quaker Meeting House, welcomes you to the Fringe.  Our venue is in the heart of the historic city centre, and our events run throughout the Fringe from 10:00 to 22:00.  The Quaker Festival Committee and Venue 40 staff endeavour to provide a friendly and welcoming venue for our visiting companies, audiences and café customers.  Our values of equality, peace, integrity and simplicity influence our theatre programme selection and the way we run the venue.

Events on during the Fringe

We have a full range of performances to suit all ages—see what’s on week by week or look at the timetable for all three weeks together (see on the left). Our café serves delicious vegetarian and vegan food and reasonable prices. Our menus are changed every day and have interesting and tasty food (see the Quaker Parrot Café link at the left). Look at our sample menus.

Meetings for Worship

The venue returns to its normal use as a place of worship on Sundays during the festival.  Worship begins at 11:00.  We also hold a mid-week worship service on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 13:00.  We always welcome visitors.
